🧬 Key active ingredients
Niacinamide – 10%
A high concentration B3 vitamin derivative that supports a more even, radiant skin appearance and proper skin barrier function.
In this formula, SKIN1004 particularly highlights refining the visible appearance of pores and tone evening.
Tranexamic Acid
A tone-care ingredient that complements 10% niacinamide to support a more even, radiant complexion and smoother texture.
The manufacturer does not specify a percentage concentration for this product, so we do not indicate a specific value either.
Ascorbyl Glucoside
A stable vitamin C derivative that acts as an antioxidant and brightness-supporting ingredient to help achieve a more even-toned skin appearance.
Hydrolyzed Sponge – spicules
Micro-sized sponge-derived structures forming the basis of the Boosting Shot technology. They create tiny passages on the skin surface, supporting more effective distribution of active ingredients.
Due to the spicules, a mild stinging or tingling sensation and occasional temporary redness may occur upon application.
Centella Asiatica Extract
A defining ingredient in the SKIN1004 formula world. It complements concentrated tone-care actives with centella-based care supporting skin comfort.
Polyglutamic Acid – PGA
A moisture-binding ingredient that helps maintain a more hydrated, plumper and softer skin feel.
Panthenol + Madecassoside
Hydrating and skin comfort-supporting ingredients that complement the high-niacinamide, spicule-containing formula well.
🎯 Who is it recommended for?
It can be a particularly good choice for:
- dull, lacklustre skin,
- uneven skin tone,
- care of more visible, enlarged pores,
- uneven, rougher skin texture,
- normal, combination and oilier skin types,
- those seeking a high concentration niacinamide formula,
- those wanting to focus on both tone care and the appearance of pores and texture.
We would not primarily recommend this for very sensitive, damaged or irritated skin due to the spicule technology.
🧴 How to use
Use 2–3 times per week for the first 1–2 weeks to allow the skin to gradually adapt to the spicules.
Initially apply a small amount to the targeted area. After cleansing and toner, gently massage into the skin, then finish with a moisturising cream.
If well tolerated, usage can gradually increase to every other evening or even daily use.
A mild tingling, stinging sensation or temporary redness may occur after application. If irritation is persistent or strong, discontinue use.
Do not use on damaged or heavily irritated skin, and avoid the eye and lip areas. Always use appropriate sun protection in the morning.
💗 Why do we love it?
Because this is not simply another 10% niacinamide serum. The niacinamide + tranexamic acid + vitamin C derivative combination simultaneously targets dull, uneven skin tone and texture, while the Boosting Shot spicules give it a very different character compared to a traditional ampoule.
It can be especially interesting if the visible appearance of pores is bothersome alongside tone unevenness, and you are looking for a more targeted, intensive formula.
❓ Q&A
Why is there a stinging sensation during use?
The formula contains micro-sized spicules derived from Hydrolyzed Sponge. These can cause a mild tingling or stinging sensation after application.
Is it normal if the skin becomes slightly red?
Mild, temporary redness may occur due to the spicule texture and typically subsides within 1–2 hours according to the manufacturer. However, do not continue use if irritation is persistent or strong.
Does it really contain 10% niacinamide?
Yes. The formula contains 10% niacinamide, which is one of the product’s main actives.
How much tranexamic acid does it contain?
It contains tranexamic acid, but the current official product page from SKIN1004 does not disclose a percentage concentration.
Does it contain vitamin C?
Yes, it contains Ascorbyl Glucoside, a stable vitamin C derivative.
Can it be used daily?
Yes, after the skin has adapted and if well tolerated. However, the manufacturer recommends only 2–3 uses per week for the first 1–2 weeks, then gradually increasing frequency.
Is it recommended as a starter niacinamide product?
Not necessarily. Not only because of the 10% niacinamide concentration but primarily due to the spicule Boosting Shot technology, it is a more intensive product than a traditional niacinamide serum.
Does it contain PDRN?
The INCI lists Sodium DNA, but SKIN1004 does not position this formula as a PDRN product. Therefore, we would not highlight it as a PDRN ampoule.
What should be combined with caution?
During the adaptation period, we would not use another intensive spicule product, strong acid exfoliant or high-activity retinoid on the same evening. It is best to first observe how the skin reacts to it alone.
