🧬 Key ingredients
Matrixyl 3000® – 10%
A patented peptide complex containing Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 peptides.
The 10% figure refers to the concentration of the Matrixyl 3000® complex, not 10% pure peptides. The formula targets a less pronounced appearance of fine lines and a smoother, more elastic and firmer skin effect.
Volufiline™ – 5%
A cosmetic ingredient derived from the root of Anemarrhena Asphodeloides that supports a fuller skin appearance. SKIN1004 specifies 5% Volufiline™ in the formula, highlighting its role primarily in supporting a softer, fuller, “plump” effect.
Hydrolyzed Sponge – spicules
Micro-sized sponge-derived structures forming the basis of the Boosting Shot technology. They help more effective distribution of active ingredients on the skin surface.
Due to the spicules, a mild prickling or tingling sensation and temporary redness may occur upon application.
Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid
Hydrolysed hyaluronic acid that supports a more hydrated, softer and fuller skin feel as a moisture-binding ingredient.
Panthenol
A B5 provitamin that helps maintain hydration and a more comfortable skin feel while supporting the skin’s natural protective barrier.
Centella Asiatica Extract + Madecassoside
Centella and its well-known active component complement the spicule and peptide-centred formula with care supporting skin comfort.
Adenosine
A cosmetic active ingredient that supports a smoother, more elastic skin appearance and a less pronounced overall effect of fine lines.
📊 What did the manufacturer’s tests show?
According to finished product tests published by SKIN1004:
- The spicule formula showed a 132.8% higher absorption rate compared to the control without spicules,
- improvements in hydration and fuller skin appearance were measured after a single use,
- the manufacturer reports a 100.09% increase in hydration in the tested “10-layer” hydration measurement,
- 24-hour moisture retention was measured after one application,
- improvements were observed in both surface and deeper hydration markers after two weeks of use.
The absorption test was conducted with 20 women aged 20–49. These are cosmetic test results published by the manufacturer and do not guarantee individual results. SKIN1004
🎯 Who is it recommended for?
It can be a particularly good choice for:
- dehydrated, moisture-deficient skin,
- dry skin,
- loss of firmness,
- care for the appearance of fine lines,
- mature skin,
- dull, tired-looking skin,
- if you want a fuller, “plump” skin effect,
- if you want to use peptides in a more intensive, spicule formula.
The manufacturer positions it for normal, dry, dehydrated and mature skin.
🧴 How to use
Use 2–3 times a week for the first 1–2 weeks to allow the skin to gradually adapt to the spicule texture. Initially, apply a small amount to the area to be treated.
After cleansing and toner, spread over the skin and gently massage in. After absorption, finish the routine with a moisturising cream.
If the skin tolerates it well, the frequency of use can be gradually increased to every other time or even daily use.
Due to the spicules, a mild tingling, prickling sensation or temporary redness may occur. Do not use on irritated or damaged skin, or directly around the eyes and lips.
💗 Why do we love it?
Because the Matrixyl 10 Boosting Shot Ampoule is not simply a hydrating peptide serum. The 10% Matrixyl 3000® and 5% Volufiline™ simultaneously guide the formula towards a smoother, more elastic and fuller skin appearance, while hyaluronic acid and panthenol provide a strong hydrating background.
Thanks to the spicule Boosting Shot technology, it offers a more intense experience than a conventional peptide-containing ampoule, yet it does not contain retinoids or strong acids. It can be a good choice for those who primarily want to support mature skin with hydration, peptides and a fuller skin appearance.
❓ Q&A
Does it really contain 10% peptides?
Not exactly. It contains 10% Matrixyl 3000® complex. Matrixyl 3000® is a patented ingredient complex based on Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 peptides, so the 10% should not be interpreted as 10% pure peptides.
What is Volufiline™?
A cosmetic ingredient derived from the root of Anemarrhena Asphodeloides, used to support a fuller, softer skin appearance. SKIN1004 specifies 5% Volufiline™ content in this ampoule.
Why might it sting during use?
It contains micro-sized spicules derived from Hydrolyzed Sponge. Because of these, a mild needle-like or tingling sensation may occur, which is usually temporary.
Can it be used daily?
Yes, after the skin has adapted. However, the manufacturer recommends 2–3 uses per week for the first 1–2 weeks, then gradually increasing frequency.
Does it contain retinol?
No. The Matrixyl 10 Boosting Shot Ampoule is not a retinoid product. It is based on peptides, hydration and fuller skin appearance.
Does it contain multiple types of hyaluronic acid?
No. The current INCI lists Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, so we simply classify it as Hyaluronic Acid in taxonomy.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
SKIN1004 also publishes a skin irritation test and communicates it as suitable for sensitive skin. However, due to the spicules, gradual introduction and monitoring of skin reaction is especially important for more sensitive skin.
How is it different from Retinol 0.2 Boosting Shot Ampoule?
Both are spicule Boosting Shot formulas but with different active systems. Retinol 0.2 targets visible signs of ageing and uneven texture more intensively with retinol and retinal. Matrixyl 10 focuses on a fuller, more elastic skin appearance with peptides, Volufiline™ and intense hydration.
